Compositeur du thème principal : Ron GrainerTournée en 1966 et 1967, la série L'homme à la valise met en vedette un certain McGill, ancien agent de la CIA reconverti en détective privé. Il mènera ses enquêtes aux quatre coins du monde pendant l'unique saison produite (30 épisodes).
La bande originale de la série a été commercialisée plus de 40 ans après la fin de cette dernière. On la doit à la firme britannique Network, déjà à l'origine de l'édition de la B.O. de Mon ami le fantôme (Randall and Hopkirk) et de scores inédits du Prisonnier (The Prisoner).
L'ensemble comprend cinq CD réunissant plus de 300 morceaux spécialement composés pour la série. Le thème principal est l'oeuvre de Ron Grainer et les autres musiques sont dues à Albert Elms. Les enregistrements proviennent des bandes masters originales monophoniques.
