The Flash est l'exemple type de l'adaptation de super-héros de comics américains au petit écran. Les 22 épisodes racontent les aventures de Flash, super-héros doté de pouvoirs extraordinaires après avoir été frappé par la foudre. Capable de se déplacer à une vitesse supersonique, il met bien évidemment son talent hors du commun au service de la Justice.
Tournée en 1990-91, cette série ne connut qu'une saison. Son manque de succès contraste avec celui que remportera 3 ans plus tard Loïs et Clark, série elle aussi tirée de bande dessinée US.
La musique de Flah a été écrite par Shirley Walker, tandis que le thème principal est l'oeuvre de Danny Elfman.
La BO est disponible sur un double CD édité par La-La Land Records. Il réunit 69 plages et dure 2 heures et demie. Il a été tiré à 3 000 exemplaires.
